This book is a biography of Li Ruqian, a famous epigrapher, collector, calligrapher, painter and poet in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Li Ruqian was a native of Jining, Shandong Province. He was one of the last batch of scholars to pass the examination in the Qing Dynasty. He served as a local official for a short time, and then devoted himself to the collection and arrangement of fine Chinese calligraphy and painting, as well as epigraphy and stone rubbings. Most of the collections are today collected in the Palace Museum, the National Library and other places.
