This book is a biography of Li Ruqian, a famous epigrapher, collector, calligrapher, painter and poet in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Li Ruqian was a native of Jining, Shandong Province. He was one of the last batch of scholars to pass the examination in the Qing Dynasty. He served as a local official for a short time, and then devoted himself to the collection and arrangement of fine Chinese calligraphy and painting, as well as epigraphy and stone rubbings.
