Mian County Local Chronicles Compilation Committee
Mian County is located in the southern part of Shaanxi Province, at the western end of the Hanzhong Basin, bordered by the Qinling Mountains to the north and the Bashan Mountains to the south, at the strategic intersection of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu. The county governs 19 towns and 242 administrative villages, with a total area of 2,406 square kilometers. Mian County is rich in resources, unique biological resources, and has a warm and humid climate. The Han River, the largest tributary of the Yangtze River, runs across the entire territory. There are many basins in the territory, and the forest coverage rate reaches 58%. Mian County has large reserves of mineral resources and high grade. It is located in the "Mianluoning" golden triangle and is known as the "Urals" of Asia by geologist Li Siguang. It is an important metallurgical industry base and chemical industry base in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. This chronicle is a continuation of the "Mian County Chronicle", with the upper limit beginning in 1987 and ending at the end of 2007.
