This book is a popular academic work. It not only maintains a rigorous academic attitude, but also makes it understandable, easy to read, interesting and informative for most of us. The author is the deputy director of the Second Historical Archives of China. In the process of writing this book, he consulted a large number of original materials, especially looking for clues from the memoirs, diaries, and telegrams of some of the parties involved.
