Liu Yishan was born in Wuhan in December 1950 and his ancestral home is Ezhou, Hubei. He has been a literary editor since 1973. He is currently the vice chairman of Hubei Provincial Writers Association, the president and editor-in-chief of "Changjiang Literature and Art" magazine, and is an expert with outstanding contributions to Hubei Province. He has created and published twenty books of poetry, novels, and prose collections. The novellas "Going Home for the New Year", "Hedong and Hexi", "Conversion" and "Strange Stone" were published in magazines such as "October", "Qingming" and "Furong", and were reprinted by many selected magazines. On the day after New Year's Day in 1968, the production team leader Han Yuli returned from a meeting in the commune and summoned all members of the team for a meeting that night. The activist Lao Gaiduan was squatting at the door with only a porcelain bowl, drinking porridge. Captain Han passed by the door and dropped a sentence: "Old Gai, hurry up and finish your drink. Inform the male and female members to have a meeting in the accounting room. Each person will be credited with three points of labor. The fourth category elements will not participate, but the children can participate!"

Niu Laoqi was like a donkey on a mill road, circling around the smooth river sand field. Occasionally, he stopped and looked at the majestic and majestic river surface. On a sunny summer day, when the waves are calm, the four-story and five-story riverboat goes up to Sichuan and down to Shanghai, singing a melodious whistle. The tugboat, emitting black smoke, crawled along with a roar. A few wooden boats dared to sail along the river bank like a stroll, and the diesel engines installed on the wooden boats screamed. The Yangtze River is always lively, the river flows day and night, and boats come and go on the river, but there is no sand transporting boat that Niu Laoqi is looking forward to. Niu Laoqi has been looking at the river since noon yesterday. It is now four o'clock in the afternoon, and there is no trace of the sand transporting ship. "I'm going to kill you, Hu Chengjin's mother. You don't mean what you say. Aren't you going to cut off my life!" Niu Laoqi gritted his teeth and yelled towards the Yangtze River with his belly puffed out.

There is a young tax collector named Guzi at the Chai Street Taxation Bureau. His long hair, a long white silk scarf, and his standard Mandarin are the hallmarks of a poet. Because he loves reading and writing poems, he often takes his girlfriend who helps him print out his poems to the residence of Wang Jin, a friend he calls a "local poet" to discuss poetry. However, his love for poetry did not get everyone's support and understanding. Finally, when the Spring Festival came, he said goodbye to Xicheng with his luggage, chose to travel far alone, and embarked on the road to find the world of poetry.

"My" fourth brother Liu Sixi, a loyal and honest migrant worker, went home to celebrate the New Year. Because he was loyal and wanted to earn more money, he worked overtime and worked day and night. Finally, he completed the task on time and received his wages. But in the end, he was overworked and passed away in his sleep while lying on a chair in the hospital's charging hall. The villagers could only drag the fourth child's body to "go home for the New Year."

This manuscript is divided into three parts, namely poetry volume, prose volume and novel volume. It contains most of Liu Yishan's works over the past decades. It is the author's review of society and life. The author has been an editor for decades, and is also a writer and poet. He has had the opportunity to interact with famous people for many years, and the collection also contains many stories about his interactions with them.

A rare heavy rain fell all night, causing a polder to collapse. But Uncle Ji Chuan encountered an accident after notifying the village of the good news of finding the rice seedlings.

Attracted by the preferential policies of the county government, Niu Laoqi moved his family to Pan Town from his hometown of Xiaogan Village. He opened a Ruziniu Restaurant and Inn, and a river beach by the Pan Town River, and invited other family members to work for him. After the river sand field was successfully established, Hu Chengjin, who was transporting sand for him, felt that he was not generous and unloyal, so he played tricks on him. For the sake of profit, he asked his sister-in-law Chun'er, who was favored by Hu Chengjin and urgently needed money to send his brother to college, to accompany Hu Chengjin. Eventually, his brother Niu Laojiu discovered him and threw Hu Chengjin from upstairs to his death.
