By collecting, organizing and studying relevant original French archives and historical materials, this book examines and presents the historical activities of the French, mainly members of the Paris Foreign Society, in the Sichuan and Yunnan Tibetan areas in the mid-19th century. It mainly includes the following aspects: 1. Early period A historical review of the activities of the European religious orders in Tibetan areas; 2. The planning of the activities of the European religious orders in Tibetan areas in the mid-19th century; 3. The activities of Basilna, a member of the Paris Foreign Society, in the Tibetan areas of Sichuan; 4. The activities of Basilna and Xiao Fari, a member of the Paris Foreign Society, in the Tibetan areas of Yunnan. The content of this book has been reviewed by the Sichuan Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee.
