This book aims to conduct an academic review of the development trajectory and achievements of the discipline of historical materials in modern Chinese history in the 60 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It focuses on sorting out and introducing the historical materials results on modern Chinese history published in mainland China in the past 60 years. It also appropriately introduces and comments on the formation and theoretical research results of the historical materials discipline system of modern Chinese history. The structure of this book adopts a combination of "staged" and "consistent" methods. It not only introduces the establishment and development of historiography in modern Chinese history, but also adopts a combination of historical material content and historical material categories to specifically introduce the content of published historical materials and their role in promoting the development of academic research. There are special historical material introductions such as the history of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the Revolution of 1911, the Chinese Revolution, and the Anti-Japanese War, as well as special topics on the history of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China that are narrated in sections.
