Li Ergou was originally working as a wage earner in the city, but he was arrested and imprisoned for saving a female student who was bullied by a gangster. In prison, Li Ergou met a neurotic Lao Ge, and then several murders occurred in the prison. Li Ergou slowly learned that these murders seemed to be caused by the female student he saved, but all this could not be explained because he was also imprisoned because of that female student. When Li Ergou was worried, Lao Ge was beside him every day and said a few words, which made Li Ergou understand something. Lao Ge told Li Ergou that he must go to a place after he was released from prison, and that place was the Tomb of the King of Western Shu. Because the innocent soul of Li Ergou came down to curse him, this curse can only be solved in the tomb of the King of Western Shu. Lao Ge also told Li Ergou that he must call two of his people when he went there. These two people were Dajun and Monkey. Because Lao Ge had never seen or heard Li Ergou mention the two of them, he felt even more strange.
