The story revolves around the thousand-year entanglement between "Lamp Wick" and "Shadow Gate". The protagonist Chen Yan (actually Chen Nian, the "Human Lamp" who has been missing for ten years) accidentally awakens the power of the sealed wick in Qingwa Alley, and is involved in the war between the shadow monster "Shadow Monster" and the "Lamp Keeper" who protects the world. Not only does he have to face the shadow monster that devours shadows and the shadow master who controls the shadow slaves, but he also has to uncover the truth about his own amnesia, the secret of his parents' sacrifice, and the divisions within the lampkeepers.
