And each article is selected and reviewed one by one. Mainly based on the official history, this chronicle is used as the outline, discarding the duplicates, retaining the overflows, correcting the errors, and annotating the discrepancies. The discarded parts are also marked for reference. Therefore, in all the materials collected, there are a large number of notes made by the editor. Most of the notes are: verifying the authenticity of historical facts; verifying the date; determining the location; identifying discrepancies; correcting errors; and analyzing subtle mysteries.

By studying a wealth of historical documents, this book analyzes Zeng Guofan, a famous minister of the late Qing Dynasty, who was unique in recognizing people, cultivating talents, leading teams, finding successors, handling peer relationships, treating special talents, and employing taboos. In particular, it summarizes the direct role of Zeng Guofan's "talent management" know-how in good times and bad times, temporary setbacks, and ultimate success from both positive and negative aspects. At the same time, this book compares the differences between Zeng Guofan, Zuo Zongtang, Hu Linyi and others in recognizing and employing people, as well as their respective advantages and disadvantages, thus making Zeng's methods and ideas more prominent. As a historical enlightenment work, this book has certain enlightenment and reference significance for today's middle and senior managers.
