During the Qianjia period, Pu Xue replaced Neo-Confucianism as the mainstream academic, and the change in academic research paradigm affected the literary concepts of this period. Scholars of Qian and Jiaqing re-examined the relationship between meaning, textual research and diction. Yuan Mei's theory of nature and spirit and Weng Fanggang's theory of texture, the former opposes Pu Xue, while the latter embraces Pu Xue. The two have completely different purposes. The theory of Xingling is intrinsically consistent with the Qianjia Yili. Pu Xue's liberal arts research promoted the creation of parallel prose in the Qianjia period. Scholars in Qianjia and Qianjia regarded parallel prose as the authentic article, and the dispute over parallel prose at this time was an extension of the dispute between Sinology and Song Dynasty. Under the influence of Qianjia Pu Xue, popular literature also had a strong textual research color.
