Spring and Autumn brushwork is one of the most important theoretical categories in ancient China. From classics to history, from history to literature, it has had a profound impact on Chinese culture. This article is the first research monograph on Spring and Autumn calligraphy in mainland China in recent years. On the basis of grasping the current situation of the study of Spring and Autumn calligraphy, the author starts from the weak links in the study of Spring and Autumn calligraphy, and successively discusses the origin and evolution of Spring and Autumn calligraphy, the connotation, denotation and essential characteristics of Spring and Autumn calligraphy, the relationship between Spring and Autumn calligraphy and the history of poetry, Spring and Autumn calligraphy and modern classics, the inheritance and development of Spring and Autumn calligraphy by Shi Qian's calligraphy, and the role of Spring and Autumn calligraphy in the narrative of ancient Chinese novels and the implicit character construction of Chinese culture. It puts forward many viewpoints that have not been put forward by predecessors, and appropriately draws on modern Western hermeneutics and other theories and methods for analysis and demonstration, so that the study of Spring and Autumn calligraphy can be further deepened and expanded.
