Novels developed in the late Qing Dynasty. Among them, "Japanese novels" not only brought Japanese novels to China, but also introduced many works from other countries that had been translated into Japanese, which had a considerable impact on the development of modern Chinese literature and social culture. "Research on the Translation and Introduction of Japanese Novels in the Late Qing Dynasty (1898-1911)" edited by Li Yanli focuses on the period from 1898 to 1911, making a preliminary discussion on the translated novels in the late Qing Dynasty. This article sorted out the bibliography of Japanese novels, supplemented them with Japanese information, analyzed novel patterns, authors, translators, and literary and artistic trends, and re-examined late Qing novels from the perspective of "looking at China from its periphery".
