One of the "Liberation War" series of books presented by Shanghai People's Publishing House for the 90th anniversary of the founding of the army. The chief planner of the series is Liu Tong, a famous military history expert, professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the author of the best-selling book "Going North: The Whole Story of the Struggle between the Party Central Committee and Zhang Guotao". This is "The Decisive Battle: The Liberation War of Central and South China 1949-1950", which tells the whole process of the Fourth Field Army marching into the six provinces of Central and South China and winning an unstoppable victory. From 1949 to 1950, the Fourth Field Army crossed the river from Peiping to the south and liberated three towns in Wuhan; it fought for Cheng Qian and peacefully liberated Changsha; it advanced into western Hunan and surrounded and annihilated Bai Chongxi's main force; it marched into Guangdong and planted the red flag in Wuyang City; it pursued and annihilated the Yu Hanmou Group and liberated the entire Guangxi; it planned to cross the sea and land and successfully liberated the entire island of Hainan.
