Based on strict text reading, this book clarifies the discourse logic, theoretical viewpoints and methodologies of Lotman's representative writings in various periods, and devotes himself to verifying and analyzing the formation of his important theoretical viewpoints and methodologies. It presents Lotman's textual viewpoints, principles, and methodological models for text analysis practice in a specific text context, and at the same time demonstrates Lotman's textual analysis practice. The development and changes of Terman's textual thought are explored to find the context of his textual thought; with the British and American New Criticism and Structuralist Criticism as a reference, by comparing Lotman's textual thought with Bakhtin, Derrida, Barthes, Iser, Gadamer and other textual theories, the unique text existence mode and structural situation of Lotman's textual thought are discussed in detail.
