Since the Song Dynasty, Han Yu's collected works have become the focus of compilation, annotation, and criticism by various literary masters. However, compared with the compilation and research results in editing and annotation, the collation and research of its comments have not achieved much results due to long-term neglect by the academic community. This book starts from collecting and sorting out the original documents of Han Yu's collected works, and takes the comments on Han Yu's ancient writings in the past dynasties as the research object. It divides the development process of Han Yu's ancient writings into the beginning and foundation period (Song Dynasty), the prosperity and development period (Ming Dynasty).
