Jiang Bi Xueer
In 1992, Jiang Bi, a young man from Hainan, published a personal quote on the page of a magazine with a mailing address. He received more than 30 letters asking for a pen pal. Xueer, a female vocational high school student in Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province, always responded quickly to letters, so we kept coming back and forth. Over the past five years, the two of them wrote nearly fifty letters (only part of them are published here). It was not until July 11, 1997 that the two met for the first time at a college in Harbin, and a marriage was made. So far, the two of them live in the west of Hainan Island and have a lively and cute little boy.
