This book studies the poetic thought of Liu Ruoyu, a Chinese-American sinologist, a famous contemporary cross-cultural theorist and critic. Liu Ruoyu used the theoretical skeleton of Western poetics to support the ideological flesh and blood of Chinese poetry, and constructed a theoretical system for the global transformation of traditional Chinese poetics. By sorting out the cultural foundation and context of Liu Ruoyu's thoughts, the manuscript explores the expansion and extension of Liu Ruoyu's cross-cultural poetics ideological system in the modern perspective in the context of cross-cultural dialogue and integration, re-examines his great attempt, and forms this book's academic perspective on the development of contemporary Chinese literary theory.
