Ivan, the third son of the Rurik family, is a different kind of Viking. He forged new ships, controlled thunder and lightning, discovered Greenland, settled in Iceland, and sailed to North America. He does not want temporary plunder, but eternal control, establishing trade networks and controlling the sea. When Ivar died of illness in Dublin, the Vikings in Britain were leaderless. Ivan descended with his heavenly troops and killed the British princes to surrender. Frank wanted to check Ivan through a trade blockade, but little did he know that Ivan had already controlled a larger trade network. Enraged by the blockade, the Vikings lost three huge Frankish states for an entire generation. The whole of Europe trembled because of his trade network. The Eastern Slavs bowed to him, the Vikings were fanatical because of him, and the Saxons and Germans fell at his feet. A huge empire surrounding the inland sea is being created by him.
