This book takes the urban construction of modern Guangzhou as the starting point, and explores the emergence of land property rights in modern Guangzhou and its inclusion in government administration based on extensive use of local chronicles, government publications, archives, newspapers, journals, records, travel notes, travel guides, anthologies, memoirs, customs reports and other materials.
