This monograph traces and sorts out the literary tradition of African American black women by studying five influential African American black female writers in 20th century American literature: Zola Neale Hurston, Maya Angelou, Alice Walker, Toni Morrison and Gloria Naylor and their works. Through the study of five aspects: black English, black music, black oral tradition, black folk culture and black religion, the basic creative mode of African American black women's literature is presented to readers, and the connection between the creative mechanism and aesthetic mechanism of African American black women's literature is revealed, which provides certain reference and inspiration for the research of other ethnic literature.
