Shen Congwen (1902-1988) is a famous writer in the history of modern Chinese literature. Research on his works has been fruitful, but there is still a need for further in-depth research. This book is the result of the author's many years of research on Shen Congwen. It conducts an in-depth analysis of Shen Congwen's prose creation and his legendary experience, poetry creation and subject consciousness, novel creation and cultural choices. It explains the main connotations of Shen Congwen's novels' narrative characteristics, poetry views, and novel views. It also sorts out his views on the dispute between the Beijing School and the Shanghai School to explore the differences in literary views between the two schools and their impact on the creation of novels of the Beijing School and Shanghai School, and to highlight the characteristics of the Beijing School's novel creation.
