Mr. Bai Ze's Strange Tales: the Case of Human Shura

Hirayama-kun

You must have heard of similar legends about monsters that catch sleepless children, a river god who controls the ups and downs of the river, and a fox fairy who can predict good and bad luck. Mr. Bai Ze is a folklorist who specializes in the study of legends about monsters from various places. In the eleventh year of the Republic of China (1922), Mr. Bai Ze's good friend Tao Fangbi accidentally found a handwritten novel about ghosts and ghosts, "The Ghost Story of Shura". I thought it was just a horrifying story, but I unexpectedly discovered that its contents were surprisingly consistent with several unsolved mysteries from more than fifty years ago. And the last case of "no survivors" is even more detailed - in the ancient temple on the top of the mountain, the suspension bridge broke and became an isolated island in the clouds; visitors came at dusk and died in the secret room; on a thunderstorm night, there were no survivors... Only the Shura ghost, who came and went without a trace, disappeared into the morning mist. Tao Fangbi studied for a long time but gained nothing. It happened that Mr. Bai Ze "escaped from marriage" to Nanjing. The two of them followed the pictures to discover a game within a game, a game within a game, and a case within a case.
