This book takes the approach of "distinguishing chapters and examining the origins", aiming to study the "historical biography" tradition of ancient Chinese novels and its historical changes. The whole book starts from four aspects: relational cognition, the concept of "historical supplement", "odd" writing of biography, and "spring and autumn brushwork" to explore the origin and connotation changes of their respective "historical biography". In terms of thinking, we should not only grasp the "family similarities" between the two, but also pay attention to elucidating the essential differences between the two.
