This is a colorful picture of life in rural northern China in the 1990s. The protagonist Zhao Guoqiang is today's rural hero. He is not afraid of power, does not seek personal gain, has the courage to break through numerous obstacles and the shackles of various traditional concepts, and finally embarks on the road of common prosperity. The novel has a strong sense of reality and a rich flavor of life.

"I'll Plant Oats in the Next Year": To say that Niu Sixi is a poet, he should have found a talented woman who is as warm and gentle as water. Even if he can't find a talented woman, he should still find an intellectual woman as his companion. The problem is that he won the title of "famous poet" only later, when his second son was seven or eight years old. He couldn't do it at first. After graduating from normal school in 1979, he taught at the county's central primary school. After teaching, he went to the creative team of the cultural center to learn poetry writing techniques from others. People said that skills come from life, read more and write more. Then he wrote and wrote, and sent it to the newspaper as a small piece of tofu for a manuscript fee of 50 cents. At that time, land contracting had not yet become popular in these mountainous areas in the north, and the people were still quite poor, but no matter how poor the young people were, they still had to get married.

The prose selected in "My Interesting Stories from Rehe" can be regarded as the spiritual autobiography of the author's life, and the artist writes an overview of the important stages of his life - his childhood in Tianjin, his youth in Chengde, Hebei, where he joined a team, and then was admitted to university, and finally returned to Chengde, "Rehe", and became a writer who cultivated this land. The author has developed solid realism writing skills in his unique life experience, leaving readers with the folk history of northern life. "My Interesting Stories from Rehe" is one of the "Novelist's Essays" series.

In the spring of March, the sound of firecrackers continues on Qingfeng Street in Shuohe City. Here are two streets imitating the architecture of the Qing Dynasty, with towers and pavilions, small bridges and flowing water, plaques and couplets, and strings of palace lanterns. After the long winter, the place becomes more and more lively. Almost all the wedding banquets of young men and women gather on this Feng Shui treasure land. But at this moment, in front of the newly renovated Zise Hotel, although the firecrackers were set off loudly, it was not the handsome man and beautiful girl getting married, but the restaurant's female boss Niu Feng who suddenly asked the guys to set off the firecrackers. Niu Fengchanhu, thirty-eight years old, has been married three times, the last one was divorced two years ago.

He Shen was born in 1951 and works at Chengde Daily. His major works include "Poor County", "Village Leader" and many other works. Talk about something old. It is said that at the moment when the Wangshen Year and the Guiyou Year (February 1933 AD) met, the bells in temples both inside and outside Rehe City were jingling. The meaning was similar to today, saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new. At that time, this border town outside the Great Wall still had its ancient customs and was far away from modern times. Except for the provincial government Chairman Tang, the former Rehe Dutong Tang Yuphoguanxie, there was a small generator made in Japan, which made a loud noise and turned on a few light bulbs. You have to celebrate the New Year even if there is no electricity. So far in the history of human civilization, the time without electricity has been long. Therefore, the gentry and common people in Rehe City still celebrate the New Year in their own way. The gates of the wealthy are decorated with lanterns (candles) and decorated with red and green decorations to celebrate grandly; Posting Spring Festival couplets to welcome the door god and hanging money to wish for good fortune and less bad luck in the coming year; poor families also have to think of ways to weigh two kilograms of noodles, make dumplings with meat but not meat, listen to others fire cannons and treat them as their own, pray that the poor will soon disappear, and go out on the first day of the new year to throw a horse and pick up a gold ingot.

The works in this book mainly describe contemporary rural life, face the new contradictions and problems that arise in rural changes, and show the spiritual and material collisions between villagers, cadres, poor people, and rich people from multiple angles, thus portraying vivid characters and revealing colorful rural landscapes. At the same time, the prose records the author's personal young life. When reading, looking back on past events, one can gain a deeper understanding of the author.

Local literature has a very broad readership in China. Among the works of contemporary writers, there are many who are the most powerful and influential. After careful screening, the series identified six young and middle-aged writers who have been active in the Chinese literary world in recent years, including Liu Xinglong, He Shen, Li Peifu, Chen Yingzhen (Taiwan), Wang Zhenhe (Taiwan) and Huang Chunming (Taiwan). Each person has a collection of the most representative short stories.

The place name Erxianju is quite nice, a bit poetic. Thirty years ago, I settled in the ancient city of Rehe, and this was the first place I knew and remembered. But understanding and remembering have nothing to do with poetry and painting, nor does it have anything to do with the fact that there is a small railway station there, nor does it have anything to do with the fact that there is a well-preserved large stone bridge built in the Kangxi year next to the small station. Speaking of which, the relevant thing is that there is a pot sticker shop next to Dashiqiao. It's better to tell the truth, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. I was an employee of that pot sticker shop at the time, wearing a smoky white muslin hat and overalls stained with oily twists. I first sold pot stickers, then baked them and added ashes from the pot. This shop had a new revolutionary name after the Cultural Revolution (it seemed to be called Xiangyang Restaurant), but no one called it, and everyone called it Erxianju Pot Sticker Shop. Place name and store name: they were called together. The Guotie Shop is a time-honored brand and an old house.
