In the early days of reform and opening up, Zhongshan was upgraded from an agricultural county to a prefecture-level city. It quickly joined the torrent of reform and opening up, successfully achieved economic take-off, and developed into one of the "Four Little Tigers" in the Pearl River Delta of South China. The author served as party committee secretary in Hengmen Town, Zhongshan City for a long time in the 1980s and 1990s. He actively explored, had the courage to reform, and achieved certain results. From the perspective of grassroots cadres and through a series of vivid examples, this book carefully reviews and deeply thinks about Zhongshan City's colorful reform exploration in the early stage of reform and opening up. This book is one of the "Zhongshan Reform and Opening Up Oral History Series". In the form of oral history, this series plans to publish a variety of books to record some important people and events that happened in Zhongshan during the reform and opening up period (especially the early years), hoping to recreate the fiery life in the boom years and outline a true and flesh-and-blood historical picture of China's reform and opening up.
