The novel is set in the modern history of China, with the main line of searching for the "Imperial Jade", the key to Ryukyu's restoration of the nation, and the emotional entanglements between Qin Jinxuan and Ryukyu Princess Shang Zhilin, North Korea's Kim Hyun-sook and the chivalrous heroine Li Youlan. The upper part mainly tells about the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom that was invaded by Japan and a huge amount of treasures were sunk on a certain island. Princess Shang Zhilin of Ryukyu lived in China, using the White Lotus Sect as a cover to develop her strength. When she stole Qin Jinxuan's house, she accidentally lost the key to the national treasure "Imperial Jade", which was found by Qin Jinxuan. In search of the "Imperial Jade", the two fell in love. In the end, Shang Zhilin married a Japanese, but became pregnant with Qin Xuan's child. Another heroine, a North Korean girl, married Qin Jinxuan because she was looking for "white-headed snow ginseng" to save Qin Jinxuan. She sank into the sea during the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1894 and eventually married a Japanese, leaving behind Qin Jinxuan's posthumous son. The third heroine, Li Youlan, fell in love with Qin Xuan while searching for the "Imperial Jade", and was raped by the Japanese Gangcun, leaving behind a posthumous son. The lower part takes Taiping Town as the main line. Various forces gather in Taiping Town to find the imperial jade. Qin Jinxuan disappeared from the world and left clues about the "imperial jade" in a few poems. Qin Jinxuan's two Japanese posthumous sons entered Taiping Town in search of the "Imperial Jade". The second part also tells the emotional entanglement between Qin Luocheng and the feuding daughter, Zhang Peiyu, and Xixiang Ikko. It shows that the mysterious shoe repairman Luo Guo has been guarding the "Emperor Jade" for the Qin family, and he is also the only insider of the "Emperor Jade".
