太平天国西征军暨李蓝义军陕南战事史料汇编
Guo Peng Zhang Xihu
The Western Expeditionary Army of the Taiping Rebellion and the Lan Dashun Uprising Army marched into southern Shaanxi and captured cities and counties. This was an extremely important event in Shaanxi, especially in Hanzhong in modern times. It has been going on for 150 years, and people still often talk about "running for long hair", which shows the deep imprint it left on this place. The deaths of hundreds of thousands of Hanzhong people have and should become part of the memory of Hanzhong. The famous scholar Mr. Ji Xianlin said: "What a nation needs most is people who create and spread culture." As a local chronicler who records the history of Hanzhong, I have long felt that I have the responsibility to explore this history clearly and pass it on to future generations. Therefore, when I was majoring in "Hanzhong Regional Chronicles" and after quitting the workplace, I still paid attention to historical records, collected local chronicles, and conducted field investigations. Every time I learned something, I was overjoyed. These collected historical materials were not dared to be kept privately, so with the support of the Hanshui Culture Research Center of Shaanxi Institute of Technology, they were made public and dedicated to readers today and in future generations, with a view to not forgetting history and passing it on.
