"Reminiscences of Jiangnan Water Village" is a collection of essays by the author Guo Dong. The author's hometown is Lujiang County, Anhui Province, which has been called "Jiangnan" since ancient times. There are green mountains and green waters, the chirping of birds and the fragrance of flowers, as well as simple rural customs and outstanding people. The author grew up in a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, but studied and worked in the north. Decades later, "the old hide-and-seek house is still silent, the boundary river where we learn to dive is still flowing, the sycamore tree at the entrance of the village is still rustling in the wind, everything is still there, everything seems to be waiting for us." However, "we returned I'm here, but I can't go back. My boyhood seems to be a real yesterday, and it seems to be in the distant and misty past."
