London Serial Strangulation Case

Gerald Kelly

18K0

Sherlock Holmes and I promised not to expose this case until after our lifetimes, so I wrote this manuscript and left it to posterity to publish it at an appropriate time, preferably a hundred years later, otherwise we would be imprisoned. The case occurred in the late autumn of 1888. In Holmes' words, this was a crime-prone season because the weather was cool and the nights were lengthening. It was the time to wear a cloak, which was convenient for covering your head but not as cold as winter. Holmes lay reclining in an arm-chair with his feet on the mantelpiece, enjoying the warm air wafting from the hearth. In his usual languid style, he lay back and listened to my reading of the Times.
