方略与施治:历朝对西南边疆的经营
Fangtie
The ancient southwest frontier included the present-day Yunnan, Guangxi, and Guizhou provinces and southwestern Sichuan, as well as the northern part of the Indochina Peninsula that once belonged to the Central Plains Dynasty. The Han, Jin, Southern Dynasties, Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties managed the southwest frontier to varying degrees. Regimes such as Nanyue, Shuhan, Nanzhao, and Dali also established their own unique governance. The changes in the southwestern frontier for more than 2,000 years have outlined a trajectory of ups and downs and left many historical mysteries that are confusing and difficult to solve. From the perspective of border governance strategies and governance effectiveness, this book uses newer methods such as historical period method and overall history method to conduct a more systematic and in-depth discussion on the management of the Central Plains dynasties and frontier regimes in the southwestern frontier.
