There are many historical monographs on the modern women's movement at home and abroad, many of which are just compilations of essays and not true historical works written chronologically. Although some of them are historical works, due to the modern era including the Republic of China period, the late Qing Dynasty content has been compressed. Moreover, the women's movement included peasant issues, such as women's issues in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and the Boxer Rebellion, as well as female workers' issues among workers, rather than women's rights issues. Therefore, the content of the history of women's rights discussed in these works on the history of the women's movement was further compressed. This book is currently the only monograph on the history of women's rights in the late Qing Dynasty in the world.
