Fang Jixiaojun loves traditional opera and folk arts, and he has collected a batch of archival materials on Beijing opera and folk arts artists since the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It includes registration information at the Beijing Social Affairs Bureau (during the Nationalist Government) and the Cultural Bureau (during the People's Government) in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and some are accompanied by photos. In the past, I only heard their names and had no idea what they looked like. For example, during the difficult period of 1961, Xidan Theater launched a traditional folk show. I remember there was a "Funny Big Drum" performed by artists such as Donggua and Lao Wagua. I forgot the reason and I couldn't go to see it. I always regretted it. I was very curious about this stage name. I wonder how funny it looked? There is a photo of winter melon in this book. It turns out that it is an old man with an unremarkable face. This is a trace left by the hardships of life.
