Based on documents and materials from China and Vietnam as well as fieldwork books, this book briefly describes the reasons for the formation of cross-border ethnic groups in China and Vietnam, discusses the history of the formation of various cross-border ethnic groups, and the current exchanges between cross-border ethnic groups in terms of economy, culture, national feelings, and feelings of relatives and friends. The book briefly describes and analyzes the clothing, food, housing, transportation, festivals, religious beliefs, folk worship, marriage, funeral and other customs of the cross-border ethnic groups between China and Vietnam. It also has a special chapter to discuss the customary laws, folk literature and art of the cross-border ethnic groups between China and Vietnam.
