"The Book of Floating Life" is an ancient romantic epic. The idealist Ning Zishi wanted to help the troubled times, but he was caught in the strife and war in the court. When he died and his reputation was ruined, he left behind a manuscript "The Book of Floating Life Narratives" that recorded his lifelong ambition and the truth of the times. His wife Su Yueming, this flexible woman, after her husband passed away with hatred, faced covetous work from all sides alone to protect this manuscript that could lead to death. She raised her young son in a desperate situation and inherited her husband's ambition. The story revolves around the survival of this manuscript, unfolding a story of joys and sorrows about ideals, love, perseverance and inheritance.
