In the early 1990s, in the inconspicuous little village in the northern Hebei Plain where I grew up, all kinds of ghosts, corpses, and monsters appeared one after another, causing chaos in the whole village and causing no peace. That year, when I was just five years old, my soul was snatched away by the ghost of my childhood playmate.
