1953 was the opening year of the first "Five-Year Plan" of the People's Republic of China. Based on 156 large-scale projects assisted by the Soviet Union, New China's industrialization began a magnificent historical curtain. Luoyang Jianxi District has become one of the key large-scale industrial bases built in New China, with seven key projects including the First Tractor Factory located here. For a time, tens of thousands of engineering and technical personnel, cadres and workers from Shanghai, Northeast China, Beijing, Henan and all over the country rushed to Jianxi without hesitation to participate in the steaming socialist construction. From the first domestically produced tractor Dongfanghong-54 rolling off the production line in 1958 to now becoming an advanced tractor manufacturing enterprise group in China and even the world, this 70-year oral history narrated by 30 Yituo people shows the Chinese people's agricultural mechanization imagination of "cultivating land without cattle".
