"World Expo and Me: People who experienced it talk about those days and events" is a collection of essays written from a personal perspective to recall the Shanghai World Expo and to inherit the spirit of the Shanghai World Expo. More than 80 authors have either personally experienced the Shanghai World Expo or are still engaged in work related to the World Expo that continues to this day. From diplomats on the front lines to ordinary volunteers, everyone contributed their own vivid memories and emotions of the Expo. The "Shanghai Declaration" adopted at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo Summit Forum proposed that October 31, the closing day of the Shanghai World Expo, be designated as "World Cities Day" to sustain the concepts and practices of the Shanghai World Expo and inspire mankind to pursue and strive for urban innovation and harmonious development. To this day, the theme of the Shanghai World Expo "Better City, Better Life" and the spirit of the Shanghai World Expo still have a profound impact on urban construction, management and even everyone's life.
