"Carp Time Capsule" attempts to talk about the future classics in our hearts that are affecting us and will continue to affect us. From how "2666", "The Three-Body Problem", Haruki Murakami, Nabokov, etc. Shape current writing, to sorting out the literary achievements and trends since the 21st century, 24 writers and cultural figures were invited to predict the future of literature in their eyes. We plan to use this book as a time capsule and permanently store it in the National Library as a sample for future people to interpret the literature of our time. In this book, the second volume of the "Anonymous Writers Project" continues to be performed fiercely. From cyberpunk to meta-fiction, from Northeast anecdotes to classical legends, the themes continue to expand and the styles continue to enrich. This is a slice of thought about the here and now given by the Chinese novel world in 2018.

It is enough for a novel to be good-looking, and there is no need to rely on the author's name. Under this belief, the special series "Carp Anonymous Writer" was born, and at the same time announced the beginning of a highly suspenseful literary competition that will last throughout the year. The names of the published novels are anonymized and only numbered in the order in which the manuscripts were received. Some of the authors are very famous writers, and some are young people who have not yet published any works. The only thing readers need to trust is their own feelings. After all, the pleasure of reading and the touch of the text are the key to appreciating novels. This will not only be an indiscriminate textual battle between a masked master and an anonymous newcomer, but also a large-scale literary experiment that is only loyal to excellent texts, a literary themed book series founded ten years ago.

As the world is preparing to leave for 2020, we dive into the memories of the 1990s in "Carp: I Go to 2000". This is also a collective reflection of the post-80s writers on their fading boyhood, trying to jointly trace how the experience at that time affected themselves now. In the interview part, director Bi Gan and writer Di An respectively talked about how their experiences in the 1990s shaped their unique expressions. In the special section, critic Yang Qingxiang and "Single Reading" editor-in-chief Wu Qi analyzed the characteristics of the political, economic, and cultural fields at that time from a macro level. Li Jingrui and Zhou Jianing chose two deeply remembered images of trumpets and typhoon days to write. Wei Sixiao and Long Di shared their childhood experiences. Ban Yu, Zheng Zhi, Chun Shu, and Zhang Lingling present new novels with the same theme, returning to the 1990s in a fictional way, leading readers into the escape in the heavy snow, the approaching moment of the millennium bug, and the Beijing and southern towns at that time.
