"Introduction to Mao Dun Literature Award Works in the 21st Century" is an elective course for Chinese language and literature majors. It aims to let readers understand the general situation of the creation of contemporary Chinese literary novels and master the ability of literary appreciation. The textbook is divided into ten lectures, and selects ten Mao Dun Literature Award-winning works, including Chi Zijian's "Right Bank of the Ergun River", Mo Yan's "Frog", Liu Zhenyun's "One Sentence is Worth Ten Thousand Sentences", Jin Yucheng's "Flowers", Su Tong's "The Yellow Bird", Liang Xiaosheng's "The World", Chen Yan's "The Protagonist", Qiao Ye's "Bao Shui", and Sun Ganlu's "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains". It spans multiple themes and shows the richness and in-depth exploration of contemporary Chinese literature. It aims to help students have a deeper understanding and appreciation of classic literary works, appreciate the artistic charm of the works, and deeply feel the vitality and diversity of contemporary Chinese literature.
