This book brings together the latest research results of key scholars from Sichuan Normal University. It not only explores the different policies of the Qing government, the Nanjing National Government, and the Red Army towards borderland ethnic areas from a political perspective, but also provides historical research on the importation of inland crops to the frontiers and the construction of frontier markets in modern times from an economic perspective. It not only examines the development of basic education and social education in the frontiers of the Republic of China, but also analyzes the evolution and academic shaping of modern frontier research institutions. While discussing the different academic path choices and adaptations of scholars in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, it also analyzes the evolution of Chinese frontier history research in Western academic circles.
