"Rome's Founding Narrative" is the 54th issue of "Classics and Interpretation". It mainly focuses on the different narrative perspectives of historians and literati on the historical event of the founding of Rome. As the successor of Greek civilization, Rome also faced tremendous pressure from Greece. Therefore, knowledgeable thinkers in Rome have been trying to establish the autonomy of Roman civilization, which is prominently displayed in the continuous tracing and narration of the founding of Rome as a motif. The theme papers of this volume select four relevant documents, focusing on the construction of the historian Livy, exploring Virgil's expression of the characteristics of Rome through Aeneas, studying the Roman political system as understood by Cicero, and outlining the shaping of Rome by the Christian ideological world. Other permanent columns in this series also have their own characteristics.

This is the 60th issue of "Classics and Interpretation" and the first issue in its 20th year. The topic of this volume once again focuses on Swift's collection of articles. Swift is well-known for Gulliver's Travels, but his riddle literature and rhetoric are currently the focus of Western academic research. These writing forms and rhetorical features reflect his identity as an intellectual, especially his deep understanding of Western modernity. Also included are Plato's studies on "Law and Justice in the Bible" and Shakespeare's "The Jewish Question in the Bible", following the practice of perusing classic texts in the "Classics and Interpretation" series. "Micro History of Thought" contains two articles on classics research. One discusses the official differences between the Kangxi and Qianlong dynasties on the nature of classics and history in the Spring and Autumn Annals and the concepts of barbarians and Huan's "Spring and Autumn Annals". It is believed that behind the differences, there is actually the Qing court's consideration of maintaining political rule. Another article discusses the Confucian classics compiled during the Qianlong period, "Yu Zuan Shi Yi Zhong Zhong", which is different in conception from the Kangxi period, and it reflects the strong characteristics of the "Four Books". In addition, "Old Articles and New Issues" includes Taiwanese scholar Cheng Yuanmin's old article "Cheng Yi Zheng" for the enjoyment of readers.
