This collection is an original work written in memory of Professor Ding Zemin by some well-known scholars currently active in the field of American history in China. It covers the fields of the American Revolution, Civil War, race and class, urban history, diplomatic history, Cold War history, and the history of the American West. Therefore, it can also be regarded as a general history of the United States that focuses on major issues. The research methods include new political history, comparative history, social history, international relations history, transnational history, and cultural history. The structure includes a through-type macro narrative, a thematic discussion of a specific period of time, or case analysis, as well as meso-level research that expands horizontal horizons. All papers are reflections and explorations based on current research results in the Chinese and American circles.
