This book is a collection of themed creative prose works. "Walking the Huaihe River" large-scale literary collection activity is a key project and project with the theme of "deep penetration" in 2017 determined by the Propaganda Department of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Starting from June 2017, the Anhui Provincial Writers Association organized dozens of outstanding young and middle-aged writers Xu Donglin, Chu Jinsong, Cheng Baoping, Luo Guangcheng, Zhang Jianchun and others to work from the source of the Huaihe River in two months - It starts from Tongbai County, Henan Province, and goes down the Huaihe River, passing through the Henan Section, Anhui Section, and Jiangsu Section of the Huaihe River, and ends at the mouth of the Huaihe River entering Hongze Lake in Baguazhou, Sihong County. The journey is more than 1,000 kilometers. During this period, the writers conducted an in-depth investigation of the humanities, history and social development of 16 key cities and counties along the Huaihe River, visited cultural and historical experts, water conservancy workers, and Huaihe River fishermen, and accumulated a lot of fresh first-hand information. They presented it in large prose and made in-depth literary expressions of the Huaihe River from multiple perspectives such as history, culture, natural ecology, and social and economic development, and compiled it into a book.

This book is edited by the Anhui Provincial Writers Association and includes representative works of newly added members of the Provincial Writers Association in 2016. The main chapters include prose and poetry such as "Today's Hometown", "Mother's Courtyard", "Spring's Fragrance of Leeks". In terms of content, they are all works that eulogize the great motherland and beautiful life, and express love and longing for relatives and hometown.
