"Selected Novels" held a themed forum on "70 Years of Literary Classics: Construction and Dissemination" at the 26th Beijing International Book Fair in 2019. This book is a collection of articles from the 2019 "New China·New Classics" discussion in "Selected Novels" and a collection of speeches from the theme forum "70 Years of Literary Classics: Construction and Dissemination".

The 19 excellent works by 19 writers including Alai, Ye Guangcen, Li Zhibang, Jiang Feng, and Hong Fang either focus on the present or write about the past.
