Du Ruosong
One of the important indicators that Chinese society was in a period of transformation at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China was the modern transformation of intellectuals. Due to the particularity of their position in history, Chinese women are bound to experience more complex and drastic changes in the modernization process. This book focuses on the identity confirmation and gender construction issues of female intellectual groups in social and cultural life in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It inherits from the classical "talented ladies" and draws inspiration from the modern female writers group. It takes women's periodical readings as the main analysis object, and uses literary narrative, periodical culture, and gender discourse. Taking language phenomenon as the key research direction, it explains the "self" identity construction of female writers in the historical and cultural process from the perspective of gender studies, with a view to sorting out the historical context of the occurrence of modern Chinese women's literature, analyzing transitional characteristics, clarifying stylistic changes, and interpreting the world mirror.
