The medical welfare system is one of the important manifestations of the Song Dynasty government's benevolent governance ideology. The development and integration of traditional Chinese culture such as Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism in the Song Dynasty were the ideological roots of its emergence. It was gradually established and implemented under the background that the ruling class attached great importance to medicine. It was led by government actions and provided different medical benefits to different objects such as the royal family and officials, soldiers and civilians. Under the tenet of "medicine is a benevolent skill" that embodies benevolent government, with the purpose of implementing medical welfare and stabilizing social order, it is gradually implemented mainly through the submissions of ministers, the emperor's edicts and decisions, and the establishment of medical administration agencies, etc., Forming a top-down medical welfare system guarantee system from the central to local governments. The whole book mainly discusses it from six aspects: its ideological origin, proposal, edict and decision-making, medical and political establishment, implementation group, and historical reference.

The author starts a "retro" journey starting from Huizhou at a country B&B called "Pig Pen Bar". In the past two years, I have met poets who have escaped to the countryside, Qingcheng Mountain women's crowns who write while practicing spiritual practice, and actresses who want to open a B&B. Because of the rarity of this experience, I wrote down what I saw and felt on the way, in order to show that even in this rootless era where desires are burning like flames, we can still find the clear land hidden in our hearts by pursuing different life experiences, as well as the respect for our homeland and nature.
