This book is the twelfth volume of the "Confucian Political Philosophy and Political Culture Series". In addition to the "Introduction", "Conclusion" and "Appendices", it consists of three special topics: "The Way of Founding a Country in Zhao and Song Dynasties and the Basic Political Pattern", "The Greatest Truth and the Rule of Chaos in the World", and "The Shaping of Loyalty and the Survival of the Country". The author believes that the political belief of the scholar-officials in the Song Dynasty was characterized by advocating rationality; their national identity was mainly characterized by the specificity of dynastic identity, and the essence was "loyalty." This provides useful enlightenment for us to deal with two major political issues of the times - reshaping the political beliefs of officials and constructing the national identity of the people.
