This treatise mainly analyzes the value of the famous work "Shishuoxinyu" of the Six Dynasties from an aesthetic point of view. First of all, the author believes that the historical materials contained in Shishuoxinyu fully reflect the aesthetic taste of the editor and his entire era. During the Six Dynasties, people's aesthetic taste mainly focused on three aspects: personality aesthetics, natural aesthetics and literary aesthetics. The deeds recorded in "Shishuoxinyu" show that people's aesthetic vision was greatly expanded during this period, and it also established a set of models for future generations.
