Tang San Shi Hao Muchen focuses on the young Chu Li who awakens the bloodline of the ancient beast king, and tells the fantasy adventure he and his contract partner Jiang Li embarked on in the Canglang Plain. When the Netherworld Ghost Fire Bone Dragon attacked the hunting team, the totem of the Book of Mountains and Seas in Chu Li's palm burst out with devastating power, not only instantly killing the ninth-level desolate beast, but also revealing his identity as the sole successor of the ancient mythical beast Taotie. Under the guidance of mysterious ancient books, the two went through the test of Netherworld Ghost Vine and the tempering of Nanmingli Fire, and successively awakened the bloodline of the Five Sacred Beasts such as Suzaku and Xuanwu. On the night of the full moon, Chu Li used the power of Tai Chi to awaken the Taotie true spirit, but was suppressed by the Donghuang Bell as its new host, and the Taotie totem was branded on his forehead. In the end, Chu Li and Jiang Li, who contracted a unicorn, stepped onto the beast bone stairs leading to the sky, greeted the ancient call of the Beast King Tower, and started an epic journey to protect all beasts.

Lin Chen, a college student, traveled to a different world where beast control was the most important thing, and became a child of a down-and-out family. Living in the forest, he determined to become a powerful beast master. Fortunately, he signed a contract with Xiaoxue, an agile fox, to become a partner and explore the forest together. They avoided danger and searched for resources, but were despised by the disciples of the sect. As night fell, Lin Chen and Xiaoxue depended on each other in the cave, falling asleep with the belief that they would become stronger, and there were more unknowns waiting for them in the future.
