The famous contemporary British novelist Muriel Spark was hailed by famous critics David Lodge and Frank Kermode as "the most talented and innovative British novelist of her time" and "the most charming writer of her generation" respectively. Spark has been nominated for the Booker Prize three times, and has been shortlisted for each of the six finalists. This book combines the methods of social historical criticism, feminist criticism, literary ethics criticism, spatial theory and text close reading. After introducing Spark's life and creative career, it summarizes her novel aesthetics and creative ideas; it also discusses Spark's novel themes and novel art; and finally places Spark in history. In the coordinates, we will longitudinally sort out and explore the mutual influence between her and other novelists, comprehensively explore the literary origins of her creations, grasp the formation trajectory of her creative concepts and aesthetic thoughts, thereby understanding Spark's inheritance and innovation of tradition, and explore the contribution and significance of her creations to writers of her peers and younger generations.
